Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Westfield, MA

After Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish church was taken by eminent domain and demolished in 2007, parishioners were in need of a new space for worship. The parish acquired a new plot of land in a residential neighborhood, less than a mile away, and in 2009 commissioned the S/L/A/M Collaborative to design a new church. SSV principal Gerry Sullivan was heavily involved in the design of this church during his time at S/L/A/M.

With a modest exterior to match the residential nature of its surroundings, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church is well-suited for its Western-Massachusetts home. A brick arched portico and ubiquitous New England steeple lend the church the dignity and presence appropriate for a place of worship.
